Dollar Store Comparison

Can you own a Dollar General, Family Dollar, or Dollar Tree?

Dollar General

Dollar General is not a franchise. With more than 18,000 stores in 47 states, that makes them one of the biggest convenient stores in the country. Dollar General was founded in 1939 and has continued to grow throughout the years. Even though they have grown to this size, potential owners still cannot own their store because it is not a franchise and does not allow full ownership by location management.

Family Dollar

Though they have 8,000 locations across the country, none of them are owned by staff or local management. All locations are owned by the company itself and does not allow for even partial ownership of the store process.
